THE CONCEPT OF PLUCKING EYEBROWS IN ISLAM...

THE CONCEPT OF PLUCKING EYEBROWS IN ISLAM...

Shaping the eyebrows by plucking them in order to look beautiful has always been an issue among the females. Here's some valuable and authentic information from the Islamic point of view stating hadeeths and Quranic verses.

Our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
"By Him in Whose hands is my life (Allah the Almighty), necessarily you should enjoin good and check evil, or else Allah will certainly send chastisement (punishment) upon you. Otherwise, you will pray but your supplications will not be accepted. "(Tirmidhi)

Plucking the eyebrows is totally forbidden and is considered to be one of the major sins. Scholars classify sins as major and minor on the fact that if there is any sin which is attached with a curse or being expelled by the mercy of Allah is a major sin.

Abdullah Ibn Masood narrates that
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
"Allah has cursed the women who do tattoos and those who have this done, the women who pluck eyebrows and those who have this done, and the women who file their teeth and change the creation of Allah."

His saying reached a lady from Banu Asad who came to him and said, "I have come to know that you have cursed such-and-such ladies?"
He replied "Why should I not curse those whom The Messenger of Allah has cursed and who are (cursed) in Allah's book." the lady said, I have read the whole Quran but I didn't find in it what you said."
He said," Verily if you have read it (i.e. the Quran) you must have found it. Didn't you read,
"And whatsoever the Messenger gives you take it and whatsoever he forbids, abstain (from it)." (59:7)

She replied," Yes I did.", he said, "verily Allah's Messenger forbade such things". She said, "But i see your wife doing these things? He said, "Go and watch her". She went and watched her but could not see anything in support of her statement. On that he said, "If my wife was as you thought, I would not keep her in my company"(i.e . I would divorce her).
(Sahih Bukhari, Vol.6, hadith No.408)

Also bear in mind brothers and sisters Shaytaan who is an open enemy to the Muslim said:

"I will take an appointed portion of your slaves.Verily, I shall mislead them and surely I shall give them long hopes, and certainly, I shall order them to slit the ears of cattle, and shall order them to change (alter) the creation of Allah.'And whoever takes shaytan as a wali instead of Allah, has surely suffered a manifest loss." (4:119)

Some sisters protest that shaping the eyebrows is allowed if it's done to please their spouses.

It is important to note here, that if it was allowed, the hadeeth would have mentioned it. But it totally forbids and the reason is obvious too....it is changing the creation of Allah!

This rule applies to cosmetic surgery too i.e. making the nose thinner, the lips thicker, etc.

Changing the creation of Allah on any body part is forbidden & should be refrained from.

Sisters Remember & Ponder:

• The pleasure of forbidden actions is followed by regret, loss and punishment in this world and the Hereafter.

• Worshiping Allah, trying to please Him is our main goal in life.

• Real beauty is achieved by loving Allah, fearing Him and following His orders and His Messenger's way of life.

• What is more important? Allah's love and mercy, or this forbidden act which will incur Allah's anger and punishment?

Narrated Abu Hurairah,
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said,
"All my followers will enter Paradise except those who refuse." They said, O Allah's Messenger! Who will refuse?"
He said, "Whoever obeys me will enter paradise and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it)." (Bukhari)

Please share!!

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever directs someone to a good, then he will have the reward equal to the doer of the action.” [Muslim 1893]

Islam puts an end to Racism, No Racism in Islam - Malcolm X
========================

Many Muslims who have been blessed to make Hajj often speak of how the journey is a life-changing experience.

This is more the case for some than others.

Malcolm X, or Al-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, is one Muslim who saw the light of true Islam through his Hajj in April 1964.

As a former member and speaker for the Nation of Islam, a black spiritual and nationalist movement, he believed that the white man was the devil and the black man superior.

After leaving the Nation of Islam in March 1964, he made Hajj, which helped change his perspective on whites and racism completely.

========================
Here is an excerpt of a letter
=========================

El Hajj Malik El Shabazz wrote a letter to his loyal assistants in Harlem… from his heart, telling them of his experience.

In it, he explains what it was during this blessed journey that made him so profoundly shift his perspective on race and racism.

We should keep in mind that this letter was written in a time when the history of African Americans in America was in making, a time when centuries worth of oppression was being spoken about and condemned in public.

===============================
A letter from Makah
===============================

“Never have I witnessed such sincere hospitality and overwhelming spirit of true brotherhood as is practiced by people of all colors and races here in this ancient Holy Land, the home of Abraham, Muhammad and all the other Prophets of the Holy Scriptures.

For the past week,I have been utterly speechless and spellbound by the graciousness I see displayed all around me by people of all colors.

“I have been blessed to visit the Holy City of Mecca, I have made my seven circuits around the Ka’ba, led by a young Mutawaf named Muhammad, I drank water from the well of the Zam Zam.

I ran seven times back and forth between the hills of Mt. Al-Safa and Al Marwah.

I have prayed in the ancient city of Mina, and I have prayed on Mountain Arafat.

“There were tens of thousands of pilgrims, from all over the world.

They were of all colors, from blue-eyed blondes to black-skinned Africans.

But we were all participating in the same ritual, displaying a spirit of unity and brotherhood that my experiences in America had led me to believe never could exist between the white and non-white.

“America needs to understand Islam, because this is the one religion that erases from its society the race problem.

Throughout my travels in the Muslim world, I have met, talked to, and even eaten with people who in America would have been considered white – but the white attitude was removed from their minds by the religion of Islam.

I have never before seen sincere and true brotherhood practiced by all colors together, irrespective of their color.

“You may be shocked by these words coming from me.

But on this pilgrimage, what I have seen, and experienced, has forced me to rearrange much of my thought-patterns previously held, and to toss aside some of my previous conclusions.

This was not too difficult for me.

Despite my firm convictions, I have always been a man who tries to face facts, and to accept the reality of life as new experience and new knowledge unfolds it.

I have always kept an open mind, which is necessary to the flexibility that must go hand in hand with every form of intelligent search for truth.
“During the past eleven days here in the Muslim world,

I have eaten from the same plate, drunk from the same glass, and slept on the same rug – while praying to the same God – with fellow Muslims, whose eyes were the bluest of blue, whose hair was the blondest of blond, and whose skin was the whitest of white.

And in the words and in the deeds of the white Muslims, I felt the same
sincerity that I felt among the black African Muslims of Nigeria, Sudan and Ghana.

“We were truly all the same (brothers) – because their belief in one God had removed the white from their minds, the white from their behavior, and the white from their attitude.

“I could see from this, that perhaps if white Americans could accept the

Oneness of God, then perhaps, too, they could accept in reality the Oneness of Man – and cease to measure, and hinder, and harm others in terms of their ‘differences’ in color.

“With racism plaguing America like an incurable cancer, the so-called ‘Christian’ white American heart should be more receptive to a proven solution to such a destructive problem.

Perhaps it could be in time to save America from imminent disaster
– the same destruction brought upon Germany by racism that eventually destroyed the Germans themselves.

“Each hour here in the Holy Land enables me to have greater spiritual insights into what is happening in America between black and white.

The American Negro never can be blamed for his racial animosities – he is only reacting to four hundred years of the conscious racism of the American whites.

But as racism leads America up the suicide path, I do believe, from the experiences that I have had with them, that the whites of the younger generation,

in the colleges and universities, will see the handwriting on the walls and many of them will turn to the spiritual path of truth

– the only way left to America to ward off the disaster that racism inevitably must lead to.

“Never have I been so highly honored.

Never have I been made to feel more humble and unworthy.
Who would believe the blessings that have been heaped upon an American Negro?

A few nights ago, a man who would be called in America a white man, a United Nations diplomat, an ambassador, a companion of kings, gave me his hotel suite, his bed.

Never would I have even thought of dreaming that I would ever be a recipient of such honors – honors that in America would be bestowed upon a King – not a Negro.

“All praise is due to God, the Lord of all the Worlds.”

Malcolm X saw and experienced many positive things.

Generosity and open heartedness were qualities which were impressed on him by the welcome which he received in many places.

He saw brotherhood and the brotherhood of different races and this led him to disclaim racism and to say:

“I am not a racist In the past I permitted myself to be used to make
sweeping indictments of all white people, the entire white race, and these generalizations have caused injuries to some whites who perhaps did not deserve to be hurt.

Because of the spiritual enlightenment which I was blessed to receive as the result of my recent pilgrimage to the Holy City of Mecca,
I no longer subscribe to sweeping indictments of any one race.

I am now striving to live the life of a true Sunni Muslim.

I must repeat that I am not a racist nor do I subscribe to the tenets of racism.

I can state in all sincerity that I wish nothing but freedom, justice and equality, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all people.”

Praying At Graves And The Conditions Of Intercession..

Praying At Graves And The Conditions Of Intercession..
Praise be to Allaah.

1 – The issue of praying at graves

Praying at graves is of two types:

The first type is praying to the occupant of the grave. This is major shirk which puts a person beyond the pale of Islam, because prayer is an act of worship, and it is not permissible to do any act of worship to anyone other than Allaah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Worship Allaah and join none with Him (in worship)”

[al-Nisa’ 4:36]

“Verily, Allaah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners (in worship) with Him, but He forgives whom He wills, sins other than that, and whoever sets up partners in worship with Allaah, has indeed strayed far away”

[al-Nisa’ 4:116]

The second type is praying to Allaah in the graveyard. This covers a number of issues:

1 – Praying the funeral (janaazah) prayer at the graveside, which is permissible.

Example: if a person dies and you are not able to offer the funeral prayer for him in the mosque, then it is permissible for you to offer the prayer for him after he is buried.

The evidence for this is that this is what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that a black man or a black woman used to clean the mosque, and he (or she) died. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked about him and they said, “He died.” He said, “Why did you not tell me? Show me to his grave (or her grave).” So he went to the grave and offered the funeral prayer. (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 458; Muslim, 956).

2 – Praying the funeral prayer in the graveyard, which is permissible

Example: a person dies and you are not able to offer the funeral prayer for him in the mosque, so you go to the graveyard and offer the prayer there before he is buried.

Shaykh ‘Abd al-Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “It is permissible to offer the funeral prayer for the deceased inside the graveyard just as it is permissible to offer the funeral prayer for him after he is buried, because it was proven that a woman used to clean the mosque and she died. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked about her and they said, ‘She died.’ He said, ‘Why did you not tell me? Show me to her grave.’ So they showed him and he offered the prayer for her, then he said, ‘These graves are filled with darkness for their occupants, but Allaah illuminates them by my prayer over them.’” (Narrated by Muslim, 956.)

From Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 8/392

3 – Praying in the graveyard – apart from the funeral (janaazah) prayer – this prayer is invalid and does not count, whether it is an obligatory prayer or a naafil prayer.

The evidence for that is as follows:

(i)                The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “All the earth is a mosque apart from the graveyards and bathrooms.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 317; Ibn Maajah, 745; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah, 606).

(ii)              The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “May Allaah curse the Jews and the Christians, for they have taken the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 435; Muslim, 529).

(iii)            Praying in graveyards may be a means that leads to worshipping the graves, or to imitating those who worship graves. Hence, because the kaafirs used to prostrate to the sun as it was rising and setting, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade us to pray when the sun is rising or setting, lest that be taken as a means that leads to worshipping the sun instead of Allaah, or to resembling the kuffaar.

4 – Praying towards the graveyard, which is haraam, according to the correct opinion.

Example: you pray with a graveyard or grave in the direction of your qiblah, but you are not praying in the graveyard, rather you are praying on some other ground that is close to the graveyard, with no wall or barrier between you and it.

The evidence for this being haraam:

(i)                It was narrated that Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not sit on graves, or pray towards them.” (Narrated by Muslim, 972). This indicates that it is haraam to pray towards graveyards or towards graves or towards a single grave.

(ii)              The reason why it is not allowed to pray towards a graveyard is the same as the reason why it is not allowed to pray towards a grave. So long as a person is facing towards the grave or graveyard in such a way that it may be said that he is praying towards it, then this comes under the prohibition, and if it comes under the prohibition then it is not valid, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Do not pray …” The prohibition here is on praying, so if a person prays towards a grave, he is combining obedience and disobedience, and it is not possible to draw closer to Allaah in such a manner.

Note: If there is a wall between you and the graveyard, then the basic principle is that it is acceptable to pray in this case and it is not prohibited. Similarly, if there is a street or a considerable distance which would mean that you cannot be regarded as praying towards the graves, then this is acceptable. And Allaah knows best.

See al-Mughni, 1/403; al-Sharh al-Mumti’ by Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 2/232.

2 – The issue of intercession

You were mistaken when you said that no one will intercede on the Day of Resurrection except the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Rather the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) will intercede and so will others among the believers. See Question no. 11931.

But we will add here an issue that was not mentioned there, which is that there are conditions attached to intercession:

1 – Permission must be granted by Allaah to the intercessor to intercede.

2 – Allaah must approve of the one for whom intercession is to be made.

The evidence for these two conditions is the verses in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And there are many angels in the heavens, whose intercession will avail nothing except after Allaah has given leave for whom He wills and is pleased with”

[al-Najm 53:26]

“and they cannot intercede except for him with whom He is pleased”

[al-Anbiya’ 21:28]

As for the imaginary intercession which the idol-worshippers think their gods perform for them, this is an invalid intercession, for Allaah does not permit intercession unless He is pleased both with the intercessor and those for whom intercession is made.

See al-Qawl al-Mufeed Sharh Kitaab al-Tawheed by Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him), p. 336-337.

The fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the believers will intercede does not justify asking them to intercede, as some people do when they ask the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to intercede for them even after his death.

GRAVE WORSHIP IS HARAM IN ISLAM

GRAVE WORSHIP IS HARAM IN ISLAM

Building mosques over the graves of Prophets and righteous people, or over places connected to their lives, is something which the perfect sharee’ah of Islam came to forbid and warn against, and curses those who do that, because it is one of the means that lead to shirk and exaggeration about the Prophets and the righteous people....

It is not permissible for graves to be left in mosques, whether that is the grave of a wali (“saint”) or of anyone else, because the Messenger (PBUH) forbade that and warned against that, and he cursed the Jews and Christians for doing that. It was narrated that he (PBUH) said: “May Allah curse the Jews and the Christians, for they took the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.” [Bukhaari, 1330, Muslim, 529]

He (PBUH) also said: “When a righteous man died among them, they would build a place of worship over his grave and put those images in it. They are the most evil of mankind before Allaah.” (Al-Bukhaari, 427; Muslim, 528)

He(PBUH) said: “Those who came before you took the graves of their Prophets and righteous people as places of worship. Do not take graves as places of worship – I forbid you to do that.” (Narrated by Muslim in his Saheeh, 532, from Jundab ibn ‘Abd-Allaah al-Bajali).

So the Prophet (PBUH) forbade taking graves as places of worship and he cursed those who do that, stating that they are the most evil of mankind. So we must beware of that.

Jabir said: Allah's Messenger PBUH forbade that the graves should be plastered or they be used as sitting places (for the people), or a building should be built over them. [Muslim :: Book 4 : Hadith 2116 also Muslim: Book 4: Hadith 2114]

Abu Wail reported that Sayyidina Ali (RA) said to Abu Hayyaj Asadi, “I am sending you to do what the Prophet sent me to do, (that) leave no high grave without levelling it (with the ground) and no picture without obliterating it.” [Tirmidhi 1051, Sahih by Albani also Abu Dawud 3218, Nisai 2027, also Muslim :: Book 4 : Hadith 2115]

It is known that everyone who prays at a grave (Dargah) is taking it as a place of worship, and whoever builds a mosque over a grave (Dargah) has taken it as a place of worship. So we must keep graves far away from the mosques and not put graves inside mosques, in obedience to the command of the Prophet (PBUH) and so as to avoid the curse issued by our Lord against those who build places of worship over graves, because when a person prays in a mosque in which there is a grave, the Shaytaan tempt them to call upon the deceased or to seek his help, or to pray to him or prostrate to him, thus committing major shirk (polytheism) and going out of fold of Islam.

Everyone who looks at the state of the Muslim world and the shirk and exaggeration that have come about because of building mosques over tombs, venerating them, adorning them and appointing custodians for them, will realize that this is indeed a means that leads to ‘Grave Worshipping’.

Clearance Of Two Doubts.

Doubt No. 1: Some people use the story of the People of the Cave to support their specious argument that this is allowed:

“(then) those who won their point said (most probably the disbelievers): ‘We verily, shall build a place of worship over them’” [al-Kahf 18:21]

The answer to that is: that Allaah has told us about the leaders and powerful people of that time, and that they said these words. That does not imply that ALLAH liked that or approved of them, rather ALLAH said that by way of blaming them and condemning their action. This is indicated by the fact that the Messenger (PBUH) to whom this verse was revealed and who was the most knowledgeable of people as to how it should be interpreted, forbade his ummah to build mosques over graves, warned them against doing so, and cursed and condemned those who did that.

If that had been permissible, then the Messenger of Allaah (PBUH) would not have discouraged it in such emphatic terms, and gone to the extent of cursing those who did it, and said that they are the most evil of mankind before Allaah. This is sufficient to convince the seeker of truth. Even if we were to assume that building places of worship over graves was permitted to those who came before us, it is not permissible for us to follow their example in that, because our sharee’ah abrogates the laws that came before it, and our Messenger (PBUH) is the Final Messenger whose sharee’ah is complete and universal. He has forbidden us to build mosques over graves, so it is not permissible for us to go against him.

Doubt No. 2: There is another specious argument put forward by those who worship graves, namely the fact that the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is in his mosque.

Islam forbids erecting structures over graves, and commands that any such structures should be knocked down, as it surely leads to Grave worshipping thereby causing to commit shirk (polytheism- associaing partners with ALLAH) and eventually making the one to leave the fold of Islam. The kalimah of Tawheed gets nullified and the one no longer remains Muslim.

Shaykh‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz (rahmahullah) said: The answer to that is that the Sahaabah (radhiallahuanhum) did not bury him in his mosque, rather they buried him in the house of ‘Aa’ishah (radhiallahu anha). When al-Waleed ibn ‘Abd al-Malik expanded the Mosque of the Prophet (PBUH) at the end of the first century AH, he incorporated the room into the mosque, but he did wrong thereby, and some of the scholars denounced him for that, but he believed that there was nothing wrong with it for the sake of expanding the mosque.

It is not permissible for a Muslim to take that as evidence that mosques may be built over graves, or that people may be buried inside mosques, because that goes against the saheeh ahaadeeth, and because it is a means that may lead to shirk by associating the occupants of the graves in worship with Allaah. End quote. Majmoo’ Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 5/388, 389.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) was asked about the ruling on praying in a mosque in which there is a grave. He replied:

Praying in a mosque in which there is a grave falls into two categories:

(i) Either the grave was there before the mosque, and the mosque was built over the grave. It is essential to shun this mosque and not pray therein, and the one who built it must knock it down; if he does not do so, then the Muslim authorities must knock it down.

(ii) Or the mosque was there before the grave, and the deceased was buried after the mosque was built. In the case the grave must be dug up, and the remains taken out and buried with the people (in the graveyard).

As for praying in such a mosque, it is permissible so long as the grave is not in front of the worshipper, because the Prophet (PBUH) forbade praying in the direction of graves.

With regard to the grave of the Prophet (PBUH) which is incorporated into his mosque, it is well known that the Mosque of the Prophet (PBUH) was built before his death, and was not built over his grave. It is also well known that the Prophet (PBUH) was not buried in the mosque, rather he was buried in his house which was separate from the mosque. At the time of al-Waleed ibn ‘Abd al-Malik he wrote to his governor in Madeenah, who was ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azeez, in 88 AH, ordering him to dismantle the Prophet’s Mosque and add to it the rooms of the wives of the Prophet (PBUH). ‘Umar ibn Azeez gathered the prominent people and fuqaha’, and read the letter of the caliph al-Waleed to them. That caused them distress, and they said: “Leave it as it is, that is better.” And it was narrated that Sa’eed ibn al-Musayyib denounced the incorporation of ‘Aa’ishah’s room into the mosque, as if he feared that the grave would be taken as a place of worship.

Umar ibn Azeez wrote a letter to that effect to al-Waleed, and al-Waleed sent word to him ordering him to carry out his instructions, so ‘Umar had no other choice. So you see that the grave of the Prophet (PBUH) was not placed in the mosque, and the mosque was not built over it, so there are no grounds for those who try to quote this as evidence that people may be buried inside mosques or that mosques may be built over graves.
It is proven that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “May the curse of Allaah be upon the Jews and the Christians; they have taken the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.” He said that as he was dying, as a warning to his ummah against doing what they did. When Umm Salamah told him of a church that she had seen in Ethiopia and the images therein, he said: “Those people, if a righteous man among them died, they would build a place of worship over his grave. They are the most evil of people before Allaah.”

And it was narrated from Ibn Mas’ood (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “Among the most evil of people upon whom the Hour will come when they are still alive are those who take graves as places of worship.” Narrated by Imam Ahmad with a jayyid isnaad. [Majmoo’ Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 12/question no. 292]

Jabir (RA) said: “Allah's Messenger (PBUH) forbade that the graves should be plastered or they be used as sitting places (for the people), or a building should be built over them.” [Muslim :: Book 4 : Hadith 2116 also Muslim: Book 4: Hadith 2114]

Abu Wail reported that Sayyidina Ali (RA) said to Abu Hayyaj Asadi, “I am sending you to do what the Prophet sent me to do, (that) leave no high grave without levelling it (with the ground) and no picture without obliterating it.” [Tirmidhi 1051, Sahih by Albani Abu Dawud 3218, Nisai 2027, also Muslim :: Book 4 : Hadith 2115]

ALLAH (SWT) Says: “Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allâh only. And those who take Auliyâ' (protectors, helpers, lords, gods) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allâh." Verily, Allâh will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allâh guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever.” [Surah Zumar, 039:003]

ALLAH (SWT) Says: "And they worship besides Allâh things that harm them not, nor profit them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with Allâh." [Surah Yunus, 10: 18]

“IT IS FORBIDDEN TO USE VERSES OF THE HOLY QUR'AAN AS MOBILE RINGTONES.”

“IT IS FORBIDDEN TO USE VERSES OF THE HOLY QUR'AAN AS MOBILE RINGTONES.”

Prohibition of Verses of the Holy Quran and Azaan as ringtones doesnt mean that one can use Music and Haram songs as their ringtones, its even more worse.

The Islamic Jurisprudence Council has banned the use of the verses of the Qur’aan as ringtones for mobile phones because it impinges on the sacred character of the the Book. The Reasons of Prohibition are as follows :

~ “It is demeaning and degrading to the verses of the Holy Book to stop abruptly at the middle of a recitation or neglecting the recitation, as happens when they are used as ringtones in mobile phones.”

~ " It is Haraam to get Quran for your ringtone on your phone. When some one calls you, sometimes the ayat didn't read out and you will answer and when the ayat didn't read out, it changes the meaning for the ayat. That's why it is Haraam to get Quran for your ringtone on your phone."

~ "Setting Qur'anic verses and the Adhan as mobile ringtones is legally impermissible, since Almighty Allah's words are sacred and should not be used in any way that drives them out of their Shari`ah framework. It is improper, and even immoral, to use the Glorious Qur'an instead of ringtones for mobile phones, since it has the sanctity and sublimity that exalt and elevate it above such a use. Almighty Allah says, (That [is the command]. And whoso magnifies the offerings consecrated to Allah, it surely is from devotion of the hearts) (Al-Hajj 22:32)"

~ "Using Qur'anic verses or the Adhan this way reflects a sort of abuse of the verses of the Glorious Qur'an, which Almighty Allah revealed for people to worship Him through reciting, memorizing, and meditating it and not to use it in ways that downgrade it or drive it out of its Shari`ah framework. Moreover, we are ordained to reflect on the verses of the Qur'an and comprehend the meanings of its words."

Taweez (Amulets) Can Lead To Shirk & Are Haram (Forbidden)

Taweez (Amulets) Can Lead To Shirk & Are Haram (Forbidden)

Anyone that is creating taweez (amulets) to create love between another or make a couple divorce each other and other things, I say, fear Allah SWT. You are not the Creator of the Heavens & The Earth, nor do you control the qadr (decree) of Allah SWT, so how do you possibly attempt to tamper with who should forcefully fall in love with someone or divorce someone or a piece of paper to become happy?

A taweez does not lead to anything but shirk (partners with Allah) as people start to believe that this amulet, charm, hanging wherever in the house , on your arm, neck, around your arm or wherever you decide to put is bringing goodness, rather than Allah SWT. If you are looking for happiness in your life, why do you not turn to Allah SWT?

Why do you believe in this piece of paper?

Is it more powerful than Allah SWT?

Is it more powerful than the Quran?

Is it more powerful the du’aas (supplications) in the Quran and the Hadith?

Is it more powerful than salah (prayers)?

More powerful than sadaqa (charity)?

Your answer is no. So why do you people turn to these knowingly or unknowingly, that these things can make you possibly leave you out of the fold of Islam?

Is the trials that Allah SWT put you through that difficult?

Allah SWT says in Surah Al-Baqara: “Allah does not burden a soul that it cannot bear.” Allah SWT also says: “O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” Allah SWT tests us differently, so do you think, your life will become easier if you decide to believe in a piece of paper?

Do you know what could possibly be in these pieces of paper asides from Quran?

Read the information below  explains why taweez (amulets) can lead to shirk and are haram (forbidden) and many other things.

In the name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

All praise is due to Allah alone, and may peace and blessings be upon his Messenger, and his family and his companions.

Having read the post from Sunni Path, supporting the use of ta’weez, I think that there is a need for a clear and simple response to the issues raised.

Before delving into the points made in the article, I would like the reader to consider the following questions:

We regularly hear people defending ta’weez that contain the Qur’an and Allah’s names and attributes, but what do you think about the following:

Ta’weez that contain the names of shaytaan?
Ta’weez that contain the aayaat of Allah written backwards?
Ta’weez that contain symbols associated with the worship of the shaytaan, such as the so-called star of david, and the pyramids?
Ta’weez that contain illegible writing?
Ta’weez that contain pictures of the human body with words and symbols written over the top?
Ta’weez that contain the aayaat of Allah scribbled and not given proper respect?
Ta’weez that contain nothing except tables of numbers?

These are the vast majority of the ta’weez that we open every single week, with most of them issued by imams, scholars, and so-called ‘pious people’. Now you have to make a choice between one of two things; either you defend these ta’weez, claiming that they are actually ‘Qur’an’ or that it is permissible to disgrace the words of Allah by scribbling them, or the reader has no choice but to admit that these ta’weez are by consensus of the scholars, haraam.

I estimate that I have opened somewhere between 500 and 1,000 ta’weez in my course of being a raaqi, and at the current count, less than ten of them contained clear Qur’an or the names of Allah, with nothing else written on them. In reality, this is just another example of the magicians hiding behind respectable scholars and their opinions.

We say to the people who make these so called ta’weez from the Qur’an: would you let the sick person simply print a page of the Qur’an and tie it around his or her neck? By Allah, you would not allow it. Instead, they have to use your ‘special’ writings, which they are not allowed to see or open, and often have to pay money for. If you really hold the opinion of ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allah be pleased with him), why don’t you allow the people to print a copy of aayat-ul-kursi from quran.com and tie it around their necks? It is the greatest aayah in the Qur’an, so why would it not protect them whilst your secret writings and scribbles can protect them? Has Allah given you something greater than aayat-ul-kursi, or is it that you seek help from the shaytaan? Where did you learn what those numbers and symbols mean? Why don’t you share your books with us that tell you how to ‘cure’ someone with pictures of the pyramids and the star of david?

My brothers and sisters, these people hide behind legitimate opinions, in order to confuse you and take you away from the path of Allah. Let me give you an example:

The Sunni Path post quotes those who allow ta’weez:

Sa`id ibn al-Musayyib, `Ata’, Mujahid, Abd Allah ibn `Amr, Ibn Sirin, `Abayd Allah ibn Abd Allah ibn `Umar, and others (Allah be well pleased with them all). [Musannaf, 5.439]
How many of you looked at that list of people and believed them all to be from the companions? By Allah, there is only one companion mentioned in that whole list; all the rest are from the generations who came after them.

Furthermore, all of the narrations from that companion are weak. They contain Muhammad ibn Is-haaq, who is someone whose narration is not accepted unless he clearly states that he heard the hadith directly from his teacher (the Arabic term is: mudallis), which in this case he did not.

So, let me say explicitly that there is not one single companion from the companions of the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and may Allah be pleased with them) who allowed ta’weez of any kind, whether from the Qur’an or not!

Let us quote the author of the Musannaf in full:

“The Chapter of those who allowed the hanging of Ta’weez”

“The permissibility of this was reported from Sa’eed ibn al-Musayyib, ‘Ataa’, Mujaahid, Abu Ja’far al-Baaqir, ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr, Muhammad ibn Seereen, ‘Ubaydullah ibn ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar, and ad-Dahhaak and IT IS NOT AUTHENTIC from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr, ad-Dahhaak, Mujaahid, and Ibn Seereen, and the rest are authentic.”
The author himself says that there is no companion who this is authentically reported from, and that half of the taabi’een mentioned are also not authentic. This is in the very same passage that the author of the post quoted – so why did he choose to stop just before the part where the author says that it isn’t authentic?

So out of that long list, we are left with ‘Ataa, Abu Ja’far, and ‘Ubaydullah – three people, none of whom were companions of the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and even their view says that the permissibility is limited to that which is from the Qur’aan alone!

On top of that, the very same book (al-Musannaf) mentions other narrations which state that all ta’weez are haraam, even if they come from the Qur’an (authentically narrated from the companions Ibn Mas’ud, Ibn ‘Abbas, Hudhayfah, ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Aamir, and Ibn ‘Ukaym – may Allah be pleased with them all). Why didn’t the author include those narrations? Is it perhaps because he doesn’t want you to know?

Even if we accept some or all of the narrations from people who allowed ta’weez, these people are talking about writing a simple aayah of the Qur’an, or some of the names of Allah, clearly and in a way that can be understood by everyone who reads it.

Don’t be fooled by statements such as ‘the vast majority of the scholars’ and ‘it is mentioned in such-and-such a book’ – anyone can write words like these. Why don’t we talk about something quantifiable, and say ‘the vast majority of the companions, if not all of them, considered ta’weez to be haraam, in all of its forms’.

Finally, we say to the author of the Sunni Path post and his supporters: Do you know why some of the scholars allowed ta’weez from the Qur’an? Because it is the uncreated speech of Allah, and therefore cannot be considered shirk. Would you like to share with the brothers and sisters what you really believe about the Qur’an that we read, and that you claim to write on the ta’weez?

Allah knows best, and all praise is for Allah alone, and may peace and blessings be upon our messenger Muhammad, and his family and his companions.

Whosoever does not supplicate to Allah, He will be angry with Him." [Saheeh Jaami`as-Sagheer #2414]

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no Muslim who does not offer any du’aa’ in which there is no sin or severing of family ties but Allaah will give him one of three things in return: either He will answer his du’aa’ sooner, or he will store it up for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an equivalent evil away from him because of it.” They said: “We will say a lot of du’aa’.” He said: “Allaah is more generous.” [Narrated by Ahmad (10749), classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb (1633).]

SOME REASONS WHY DUA'A (SUPPLICATIONS) MAY NOT BE ANSWERED

1. Making Dua’a in a hurry; i.e without praising Allah and without sending blessings (Durood) upon the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him)

It is narrated from Faddaalah ibn ‘Ubayd (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) heard a man making du’aa’ in his prayer without glorifying Allaah or sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘This man is in a hurry.’ He called him and said to him or to someone else, ‘When anyone of you makes du’aa’, let him start by glorifying his Lord and praising Him, then let him send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), then let him pray for whatever he wants.’” [Ref: Abu Dawood (1481) and al-Tirmidhi (3477) , Sunan Al Nasaee (1284)]

Seeking to draw closer to Allaah by calling upon Him by His Most Beautiful Names and Sublime Attributes at the beginning of the du’aa’ or at the end. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allaah, so call on Him by them” [al-A’raaf 7:180].

The beautiful Names of Allah (called as Asma ul-Husna) are 99 names which you can download/see from here : http://www.mediafire.com/view/?gnuuy7z2afx9jjx

An example showing how invoking Allah using his name is beneficial :

Narated By Buraydah ibn al-Hasib : The Apostle of Allah (pbuh) heard a man saying: O Allah, I ask Thee, I bear witness that there is no god but Thou, the One, He to Whom men repair, Who has not begotten, and has not been begotten, and to Whom no one is equal, and he said: You have supplicated Allah using His Greatest Name, when asked with this name He gives, and when supplicated by this name he answers.

[Ref: Abu-Dawud Book 002, Hadith Number 1488.]

Narated By Mihjan ibn al-Adra' : The Apostle of Allah (pbuh) entered the mosque and saw a man who had finished his prayer, and was reciting the tashahhud saying: O Allah, I ask you, O Allah, the One(Ahad),the eternally(As-Samad) besought of all, He begetteth not(lam yalid), nor was He begotten(Walam yulad), and there is none comparable(Kuffan ahad) unto Him, that you may forgive me my sins, you are Most Forgiving(Al-Gafoor), Merciful.(Ar-Rahman) He (the Prophet) said: He was forgiven (repeating three times.)

[Ref: Abu-Dawud Book 002, Hadith Number 0980]

"إن الدعاء موقوف بين السماء والأرض لا يصعد منه شيء حتى تصلي على نبيك صلى الله عليه وسلم

Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “Du’aa’ is detained (stopped) between the heavens and the earth and no part of it is taken up until you send blessings upon your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).” [Ref: Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 486, Hasan by Shaikh Albaanee in Saheeh at-Tirmidhi 403; Also recorded by Abu Bakr Ibn al-Arabi al Malaki in his Aridat al-Ahwadhi bi-Sharh Sahih al-Tirmidhi 1/472; Al-Mundhari recorded this in Targheeb wa Tarheeb 2/406 grading the hadeeth to be hasan; As-Shawkaani in Tuhfadh al-Zaakareen58; Ibn Katheer in Musnad al-Farooq 1/176 graded this to have a Jayyid Isnaad ]

2. Failing to Remember Allah at times of Happiness

Narrated Abu Hurairah: Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Whoever would be pleased to have Allaah respond to him during hardship and disaster should make much Du`aa’ in times of ease.” [Tirmidhee (3383) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

3. Failing to pray for oneself first

Narrated Abi bin Ka`b: Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم directed that when supplicating for another, one should begin with himself. [Tirmidhee (3384) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

[Note: It is widely noticed that when someone posts saying: “Make du`aa for me”. People are seen rushing to respond: “O Allaah help him” or “O Allaah protect him” etc. But the proper etiquette is to say: “O Allaah! Help me and him”, “O Allaah! Guide me and him.”]

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen rahimahullah said:

It is appropriate for a person when he is supplicating to start with himself first, Musa a.s said: {My Lord Forgive me and my brother} Nuh a.s said {Our Lord forgive me and my parents} He preceded himself before his parents and Prophet عليه الصلاة والسلام said (Start with yourself first). So starting with ourselves is better in supplication

[Sharah Alfiyyah ibn Maalik 1/43]

4. Failing to supplicate at the times when prayers are answered the most

There are certain times/moments when it is reported that our prayers are quickly accepted or answered. We must take advantage of these jackpots (times) Allah gave us.

See the times when the prayers are answered the most here : http://the-finalrevelation.blogspot.in/2012/07/best-time-to-supplicate.html

5. Complaining to others and refraining from seeking Allah's help or supplicating to Allah to remove our problems

The Prophet of Allaah, Yaqoob عليه السلام, said: I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allaah... [Surah Yusuf (12):86]

6. Supplicating to those who have left this world

Unfortunately many Muslims indulge in supplicating via or to some awliyas and etc who have left this world. They are Alive indeed but not in the way we are. They are in the intermediary stage called as Barzakh. We can neither perceive nor Imagine their state. Especially in today's time a muslim should Invoke and seek Help from Allah alone instead of supplicating to previous awliyas of allah (rahimahullah)

{And most of them believe not in Allaah except that they also ascribe divine powers to other beings beside Him.} [Surah Yusuf (12): 106]

Allaah تعالى also says:

{Say: “Who can protect you from Allaah if He intends to harm you or who can prevent Him if He intends to show you mercy?” They will find none besides Allaah to protect or help them.} [Surah al-Ahzaab (33):17]

Allaah تعالى says:

{Verily, you cannot make the dead to hear...} [Surah al-Naml (27):80]

He تعالى also says:

{and neither are equal the living and the dead. Certainly Allaah can make anyone hear if He so wills; but, O Prophet, you cannot make those who are in the graves hear you.} [Surah Faatir (35):22]

Please see : 13 QUESTION AND ANSWERS PROVING THAT THE DEAD CANNOT BE SOUGHT HELP FROM IN ANY WAY

7. Disobeying Allah's command, indulging in Evil and not Enjoining Good

Ibn Qayyim:

"There are those who do not see the effects of a sin, and they are tricked by it. They don't realize that the sin can take effect after a while."

(ad-Da', p.64)

Narrated Hudhaifah: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “By Him in Whose hand my soul is, you must enjoin what is reputable and forbid what is disreputable, or Allaah will certainly soon send punishment from Himself to you. Then you will make supplication and not receive an answer.” [Tirmidhee (2169) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

The Messenger of Allaah (Sallalahu Alayhee Wasallam) said, “Command the good and forbid the evil before you supplicate so that it is answered.” (Ibn Maajah 2/381 no.4052, Imaam al-Albaanee graded the Hadeeth Hasan in Saheeh Ibn Maajah 2/367 no.3235, Imaam Ibn Hibbaan has also transmitted a similar narration. (Mawaarid az-Zamaan Ilaa Zawaa’id Ibn Hibbaan 1/455-446 no.1841)

Allah says " Indeed, mankind is in loss,Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. [Qur'an 103: 2-3]

Narrated Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq: You people recite this verse, {You who believe! Care for yourselves; he who goes astray cannot harm you when you are rightly guided.} [Surah al-Maaidah (5): 105] I heard Allaah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم say, “When people see something objectionable and do not change it, Allaah will soon include them all in His punishment.” [Sunan Abu Dawood (4338), Ibn Majah (4005) and Tirmidhee (3057) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

Allah says " Verily, Allah will not change the (good) conditions of a people as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah)” (Al-Qur'an, Sura 13 Ra'd , part of Verse

11)   Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali said: It was narrated that ‘Umar Ibn al-Khattaab (radiyAllahu'anhu) said:

"By avoiding that which Allah has forbidden, Allah will accept du’aa and tasbeeh. And it was narrated that Abu Dharr (radiyAllahu'anhu) said: “The amount of du’aa with righteousness that is sufficient is like the amount of salt that is sufficient with food.” And Muhammad ibn Waasi’ said: A little du’aa is sufficient with piety.

One of the Salaf said: Do not expect a response when you have blocked the way with sins. One of the poets also commented on this by saying:

We call upon Allah for every hardship, then we forget Him when the hardship is relieved.

How can we hope for an answer to our du’aa’s, when we have blocked its way with sins?"

(Jaami’ al-‘Uloom wa’l-Hukam 1/107, 108)

Yahyaa Ibn Mu’aadh:

“Do not find slow the answer to your du’aas when you have shut off its path with your sins.”

(As-Siyar, 13/15)
Imam Sufyan ibn `Uyaynah:

“Don’t ever leave off making Du’aa nor allow what [bad deeds] you commit to prevent you from it, for indeed Allah answered the Du’aa of Iblees (the Devil) and he is the most evil of creation [when he said to Allah]

“‘Grant me respite until the Day in which they will be resurrected.’ He (Allah) said, ‘Indeed you are from those who are granted respite.’ ” [7:14-15]“

(Ash-Shu'ab, 2/1147)

8. Lending money without any Proof or contract

He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are three who call upon Allaah but their prayer will not be answered… (cont..) ...and a man who lent money to another man but he did not have (the loan) witnessed.” (Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3075)

The above command of rasool (Peace and blessings be upon him) could be because of the following ayat:

“You should not become weary (lazy, ignorant) to write it (your contract), whether it be small or big, for its fixed term” [al-Baqarah 2:282 – interpretation of the meaning]

9. Drinking or consuming any form of intoxicant

Narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr who said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever drinks alcohol and gets drunk, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days and if he dies he will go to Hell. But if he repents, Allaah will accept his repentance. If he again drinks alcohol and gets drunk, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days and if he dies he will go to Hell. But if he repents, Allaah will accept his repentance. If he again drinks alcohol and gets drunk, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days and if he dies he will go to Hell. But if he repents, Allaah will accept his repentance. If he commits (this sin) again, then Allaah pledges to make him drink the mud of khabaal on the Day of Resurrection.” They asked, “O Messenger of Allaah, what is the mud of khabaal?” He said, “The juices of the people of Hell.” [Ibn Maajah (3377), Sahih Al Albani in Silsilat Al Saheeha (709) ]

10. Wearing a Taweedh (amulet) for protection or seeking help

I heard the Messenger of Allaah (SAWW) It was narrated that ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Aamir said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “Whoever wears an amulet (taweedh), may Allaah not fulfil his need , and whoever wears a sea-shell, may Allaah not give him peace.”  [Ref: Narrated by Ahmad, 16951]

11. Going to a Fortune Teller (even for Fun or for the heck of it)

Prophet (s.a.w) said “Whoever goes to a fortune-teller and asks him about something, his prayers will not be accepted for forty nights”  [Ref: Saheeh Muslim, 4/1751]

12. Being Impatient – getting Frustrated when dua’as aren’t answered

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “A person will still be answered so long as his du’aa’ does not involve sin or severing ties of kinship, and so long as he does not become impatient.” It was said: O Messenger of Allaah, what does being impatient mean? He said: “Saying, I said du’aa’, and I said du’aa’, and I did not receive any response, then he becomes frustrated and stops saying du’aa’.” [Narrated by Muslim (2735), A similar narration is narrated in Al-Muwatta hadith 29, volume 15.]

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “The invocation of anyone of you is granted (by Allaah) if he does not show impatience (by saying, “I invoked Allaah but my request has not been granted).” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (6340) and Saheeh Muslim (4922)]

The person who makes du’aa’ has to be resolute in his supplication, striving hard and earnestly repeating his du’aa’. A very good example of this is the below hadeeth wherein prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him)  kept on pleading Allah continuously

One night he (Peace and blessings be upon him)  stood (in prayer) repeating one aayah until it was dawn:"If you do punish them, they are Your servants; if You do forgive them, You are indeed the Exalted in Power, the Wise." (al- Maa'idah 5:121) [with it (this supplication from the Qur'an) he bowed, with it he prostrated, and with it he supplicated], [so in the morning Abu Dharr (radi Allaahu 'anhu) said to him: "O Messenger of Allaah, you did not stop reciting this aayah until it was morning; you bowed with it and you prostrated with it and you supplicated with it,] [whereas Allaah has taught you the whole Qur'aan; if one of us were to do this, we would be stern with him? He said: Indeed I asked my Lord, the Mighty and Sublime, for intercession for my ummah: He granted me it, and it will be possible if Allaah wills for whoever does not associate any partners with Allaah [Sunan al Nasaa'i, Ibn Khuzaimah (1/70/1), Ahmad, Ibn Nasr & Haakim, who declared it saheeh and Dhahabi agreed.]

After repenting from sins
Source: Sayd ul-Khaatir; Chapter 249, p. 343
Asaheeha Translations

“I worship (Allaah) by making du’aa, and I am certain that the answer will come”

Shaykh Ibn aj-Jawzee (rahimahullaah) says:

“If you fall into a hardship that is hard to be free from, you can’t (do anything) but make du’aa and take refuge in Allaah, after repenting from sins, because sins necessitate punishment, so if they disappear by repentance from them, the reason (for punishment) is lifted. So if you repented and made du’aa, and did not see any trace of response, then look into your affair. Maybe the repentence was not sound, so correct it then make du’aa and don’t become tired of making du’aa. Maybe the good is in delaying the response, and maybe the good is not in responding, so you will be rewarded and responded by being referred to what benefits you, and it would be beneficial for you to not be given what you requested, but rather to be given other than it as a replacement.

So if iblees comes and says: ‘How much did you call upon Him and did not see any response?’ Then say: ‘I worship (Allaah) by making du’aa, and I am certain that the answer will come. But maybe its delay is due to some good, and even if it doesn’t happen, worship and humility takes place.’ So take care not to ask for something except by combining it with asking for that which is good, because the occurrence of many a wish from the dunyaa was a cause for destruction.”

13. Asking to break family ties (near or far) or for something unlawful

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no Muslim who does not offer any du’aa’ in which there is no sin or severing of family ties but Allaah will give him one of three things in return: either He will answer his du’aa’ sooner, or he will store it up for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an equivalent evil away from him because of it.” They said: “we will say a lot of du’aa’.” He said: “Allaah is more generous.” [Narrated by Ahmad (10749), classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb (1633)]

14. Being uncertain while Making Dua'a or Being unsure of the Dua'a (or its reward ) being accepted or not

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu’z Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, ”When you are making dua, do not say: ‘O Allah, forgive me if You wish. O Allah, forgive me if you wish.’ You should be firm in your asking, for there is no compelling Him.” [ Al Muwatta hadith 28, volume 15, Fiqh us Sunnah, Vol 4, No. 112b]

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “None of you should say: 'O Allaah, forgive me if You wish; O Allaah, be merciful to me if You wish,' but he should always appeal to Allaah with determination, for nobody can force Allaah to do something against His Will.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (6339) and Saheeh Muslim (4845)]

One should always believe that Allah is listening and he will either answer your prayer, or expiate some sins in exchange for it or give you the reward in the hereafter because

Prophet (Peace be upon Him) said: “Allah, may He be exalted, says: ‘I am as My slave thinks I am.’” [Narrated by al-Bukhari, 7405; Muslim, 4675]

[Note: Don’t let the deficiency in a language be the cause of deficiency in the Du`aa. Verily, we’ve been informed by our beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم to be firm while making the Du`aa, and we (unintentionally) show our uncertainty because of our Language – especially English.

Whenever we make du`aa, why do we use the word “may”??! “May Allaah make it easy”, “may Allaah guide me”, “may Allaah protect me”.

Instead we should say: “Allaah guide me and you.”, “Allaah reward me and you.” etc.

Then there is another problem which persists: People adding the word “Inshaa-Allaah” (If Allaah Wills) after making a Du`aa. This is not correct either and going against the Sunnah of our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. Just make the Du`aa’ and stop at it.]

15. Eating, Drinking, Spending, Buying, Living on Haraam money

Abu Hurairah (r.a) reported that the Prophet (s.a.w) said, “O people, Allah is Good and He, therefore, accepts only that which is good. And Allah commanded the believers as He commanded the Messengers by saying, "O Messengers, eat of the good things, and do good deeds; verily I am aware of what you do," ( Qur’an 23.51) and He said:
"O those who believe, eat of the good things that We gave you’.” (Qur’an 2.172) The Prophet, peace be upon him, then made mention of a person who travels widely, his hair dishevelled, and covered with dust. “He lifts his hands and makes supplication, ‘O Lord, O Lord,’ but his diet (food) is unlawful (haram), his drink is unlawful, and his clothes are unlawful, and his nourishment (survival) is unlawful. How then can his supplication be accepted?“ [Muslim 1692 and Ahmad]

Ibn ‘Abbas reported, “Once, when I recited the verses of the Qur’an, ‘O you people! Eat of what is on earth, lawful and good’ (2.168) in the presence of the Prophet, peace be upon him. Sa’d b. Abi Waqqas got up and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! Ask Allah to make me one whose supplication is heard.’ At this the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, ‘O Sa’d, consume lawful things and your supplications will be heard, and by Him in Whose hands is the soul of Muhammad, when a man puts into his stomach a morsel of what is forbidden his prayers are not accepted for forty days, and a servant of Allah whose body is nourished by usury or by what is forbidden becomes more deserving of the Hell fire.” [Al-Hafiz b. Marduwiyah, Fiqh-us-Sunnah, volume 4: 110a]

Meaning, if a person eats, drinks, spends, consumes or lives on Haraam earned money (stealing directly or indirectly, giving or taking interest, lying to sell your product, cheating and etc), his dua’a will not be answered.

16. Making Dua with a distracted mind, or carelessly

One should be focused while making dua'a for he is invoking the Lord of the Universe, the sustainer, the creator, the merciful , the compassionate !!

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Call upon Allah with certainty that he will answer you. Know that Allah will not answer the supplication of a heart that is heedless and careless.”

[Ref: Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3479; Da`eef by some but Hasan Li-gayrihi by Shaykh Albaanee]

There are many quotes of our sullaf emphasizing on the importance of kushoo whilst making du`a

17. Making Unnecessary Dua'a or Overstepping while Making Dua'a

Be specific and use concise words instead of overstepping the mark in making Dua. Narrated from Abd-Allaah ibn Mughaffal (R.A) that he heard his son say: “O Allah, I ask You for the white palace on the right side of Paradise if I enter it.” He said: “O my son, ask Allah for Paradise and seek refuge with Allah from the Fire, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon Him) say: ‘Among this Ummah will be people who overstep the mark in purifying themselves and in making Dua” [Narrated by Abu Dawood, 690]

18. Showing bad manners while making Dua’a.

One should not forget that he is talking and begging to the Lord of the Lords and not some manager or school Principle. Showing respect, humility and sincerity is a must while making dua’aa.

Beseeching, humbling oneself, hoping for Allaah’s reward and fearing His punishment. This is the spirit, essence and purpose of du’aa’. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret. He likes not the aggressors” [al-A’raaf 7:55].

One very important matter which is to be pondered upon is proper pronounciation of the words in arabic taken from the Qur'an and sunnah while invoking Allah. Arabic is a very sensitive and beatiful language. A single or slight change in the pronounciation changes the meaning. Here is an example

Bakr Abu-Zayd:

"One time, Al-Asma'i passed by a man who, while making du'a said, "Ya Dhul Jalali Wa Al-Ikram," (Which is grammatically incorrect, it should be: Ya Dhal...), so Al-Asma'i asked the man about his name. The man replied, "Layth." So Al-Asma'i wrote a line of poetry saying,

Layth calls upon his Lord with grammatical errors,
This is why when he call upon him He does not answer."

[Ref: Tashih Ad-Du'a, Pg. 25]

Note: Allah answers all du'a made with Ikhlas. All Al-Asma'i was pointing out that it is a shame, and Indeed, disrespectful to call upon Allah and supplicate to Him, making grammatical errors.

Ibn Abi Mulayka said, "A bedouin arrived in Madina in the time of `Umar ibn al-Khattab and asked, 'Who will recite some of what was revealed to Muhammad, salallahu `alayhi wa sallam?' A man recited Surat at-Bar'a to him. He said, 'Allah is free of the idolaters and His Messenger' using the genitive for Messenger (rasooliHI).' The bedouin said, 'Allah is free of His Messenger? If Allah is free of His Messenger, we are more free of him.' `Umar heard what the bedouin had said so he summoned him and said, 'Bedouin, are you free of the Messenger of Allah?' He replied, 'Ameer al-Mu'minin, I came to Madina with no knowledge of the Qur'an. I asked someone to recite it to me and he recited this Sura al-Bara’ (i.e. tawbah) and said, "Allah is free of the idolaters and His Messenger." So I said, "Allah is free of His Messenger? If Allah is free of His Messenger, we are more free of him."' `Umar said, 'That is not how it is, bedouin.' He said, 'How is it then, Amir al-Mu'minun?' He said, 'Allah is free of the idolaters, as is His Messenger (rasuluHU).' The bedouin said, 'We, by Allah, are more free of what Allah and His Messenger are free of!' So `Umar ibn al-Khattab commanded that only those who knew proper grammar should recite to people and he commanded Abu'l-Aswad to set out the grammar."

THE IMPORTANCE OF ARABIC LANGUAGE:

One of the reported instructions ‘Umar wrote to Abu Musa al-`Ashari and those under his governance during the former’s Caliphate was, “Seek knowledge and understanding of (fiqh) the Sunnah and seek knowledge and understanding of Arabic.”

[Ibn Abî Shaybah, Al-Musannaf Vol.6 p126.]

It is reported that he said, “Learn Arabic, for it strengthens the intelligence and increases one’s noble conduct (al-murû`ah).”

[Al-Bayhaqî, Shu’ab Al-Îmân Vol.4 p187.]

It is also reported that he said, “Do not learn the language of the non-Arabs, and do not enter upon them in their churches on their festivals, for indeed wrath descends upon them.”

[‘Abd Al-Razzâq Al-San’ânî, Al-Musannaf Vol.1 p411.]

It is also reported that he was once circumambulating the Ka’bah when he heard two men speaking in a language other than Arabic behind him. He turned to them and said, “Find some way to learn Arabic.”

[‘Abd Al-Razzâq Al-San’ânî, Al-Musannaf Vol.5 p496]

19. Severing ties of Kinship/Family

"The actions of the children of Adam are presented before Allah Almighty on Thursday evening, the night before Jumu'a. He does not accept the actions of someone who has severed ties of kinship."'

20. Indulging in bid'ah (innovation)

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said :

إن الله احتجز التوبة عن صاحب كل بدعة

Indeed Allah does not accept the repentance of an innovator until he stops the innovation

* If you love the people of innovation , then you know what this hadeeth means and indicates . Imam al Mundhari even has a chapter titled with this hadeeth in his book, which will be mentioned below

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Every innovation is misguidance and going astray"

Reported by Abu Daawood (no. 4607), at-Tirmidhee (no. 2676) and it is saheeh. Ibn Hajr authenticated it Takhreej Ahaadeeth Ibn ul-Haajib (1/137).

The Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) also warned against the People of Innovation, from befriending, supporting or taking from them saying: "Whoever innovates or accommodates an innovator then upon him is the curse of Allaah, His Angels and the whole of mankind."

Reported by Bukhaaree (12/41) and Muslim (9/140) and also Abu dawood

Summary of the main reasons :
al-‘Allammah Dr. Saalih bin Fawzan Al Fawzan  حفظه الله

Summarized Answer for du`a having conditions for it's acceptibility:

Yes, it has conditions.

[1] Firstly, the supplication should not exceed the legislation (Sharīah), it should not include transgression or other than that.

Even worse, it should not include (any of the following):

- Supplication to other than Allāh,

- Associating partners with Allah (shīrk),

- Seeking aid from the dead (Istigāthā)

- Seeking closeness with Allah through the dead (tawasul).

This nullifies the supplication and other acts of worship, because it is shīrk.

[2] The supplication should be said with statements that are in line with the Shariah or whatever agrees with it.  It should not include innovated statements.

[3] The supplicator should be sincere to Allah in his supplication, sincere in his intention and sincere in his belief (Aqidah) to Allah.

[4] His food, drink, clothing, etc should be lawful (halal). if any of these are unlawful (haraam) his supplication will not be accepted. The evidence for this is the hadith of 'a man who, having journeyed far is dishevelled and dusty and who spreads out his bands to the sky (saying): ‘O Lord! O Lord,’ whilst his food is unlawful, his drink unlawful and he is nourished unlawfully. So how can he be answered!’

CONCLUSION:

It is reported that Ibrâhîm b. Adham (d162H) – Allâh have mercy on him –once passed through the market of Basrah. People gathered around him and asked:

O Abû Ishâq, Allâh the Exalted says in his Book. ‘Call on me, I will answer your prayers’, but we have been calling on Him for a long time and He does not answer our prayers. [Ibrâhîm] replied, “O people of Basrah, your hearts have died in re spect to ten things: First, you know Allâh but you do not give Him His rights; second, you have read Allâh’s Book but you do not act by it; third, you claim to love Allâh’s Messenger – Allâh’s peace and blessings be upon him – yet you abandon his Sunnah; fourth, you claim to be enemies to Shaytân but you conform to [his ways]; fifth, you say you love Paradise yet you do not work for it; sixth, you say you fear The Fire yet you put yourselves closer to it [by sinning]; seventh, you say death is true but you do not prepare for it; eighth, you busy yourselves with the faults of others and disregard your own; ninth, you consume the favors of your Lord but are not grateful for them; and tenth, you bury your dead but take no lesson from them.”

REFRAIN FROM ABUSING FELLOW MUSLIMS THEY MAY BE BETTER THAN YOU IN THE SIGHT OF ALLAH !

REFRAIN FROM ABUSING FELLOW MUSLIMS THEY MAY BE BETTER THAN YOU IN THE SIGHT OF ALLAH !

It is a bitter reality that Nowadays Islam is divided into Several sects and each sect is an open enemy to the other sect.

Most of the Muslims dont even refrain from abusing the Scholars of this Ummah ! They trangress every limit and abuse fellow Muslims as well as the Scholars.

* "CONSEQUENCES OF ABUSING AND LOOKING DOWN UPON OTHERS" :

~ We should keep in mind that what if the person we are abusing is The Wali of Allah?

~ What will be the Consequences if the Person we are abusing is more greater than us in the Sight of Allah?

* Punishment of Abusing Awliyaa of Allah (The Scholars and other Righteous People may Fall into this category of being Allah's Friends So Be Careful) :

~ Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu ‘anhu, reported that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said:

“Allah the Almighty has said: ‘Whosoever acts with enmity towards a closer servant of Mine (wali), I will indeed declare war against him.

(Saheeh Bukhari, Hadith 38)

Do Not Look down upon other fellow Muslims they may be better than you :

~ O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers. (49:11)

* ABUSING FELLOW MUSLIMS IN ISLAM :

~ Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The believer does not taunt others, he does not curse others, he does not use profanity, and he does not abuse others.”

Source: Sunan At-Tirmidhi 1977

Grade: Hasan (fair) according to At-Tirmidhi

~ Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When two persons indulge in abusing each other, the beginner will be the sinner so long as the oppressed does not transgress the limits."

(Saheeh Muslim, Book 18, Hadith 51)

~ Narrated Ibn 'Umar (Radi-Allahu 'anhu): I heard the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) saying, "Do not revert to disbelief after me by striking (cutting) the necks of one another." Bukhari Vol. 9 : No. 198

~ Narrated 'Abdullah (Radi-Allahu 'anhu): The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Abusing a Muslim is Fusuq (evil doing) and killing him is Kufr (disbelief)." Bukhari Vol. 9 : No. 197

AVOID SPEAKING ILL ABOUT OUR ISLAMIC SCHOLARS NO MATTER FROM WHICH SECT THEY BELONG :

Abusing Scholars and people of Knowledge while they cant listen to us falls under the category of "Backbiting" which is one of the dangerous sins !

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful” [49:12]

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do you know what gheebah (backbiting) is?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “Saying something about your brother that he dislikes.” It was said, “What if what I say about my brother is true?” He said, “If what you say is true then you have backbitten about him, and if it is not true, then you have slandered him.”

[Muslim]

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by two graves and said, “They are being punished, but they are not being punished for anything that was difficult to avoid. One of them used to walk about spreading malicious gossip (nameemah), and the other used not to take precautions to avoid getting urine on himself when he urinated.” Then he called for a green branch, which he split in two and planted a piece on each grave, and said, “May their torment be reduced so long as these do not dry out.” [al-Bukhaari, Muslim

Avoid taunting, cursing and abusing others over a matter of sect ! We are all Muslims we need to get divided and we dont know who is greater in Allah's Sight.

May Allah Forgive us for slandering Our Brother and Sisters in Islam and May Allah bless us with the Gift of Hidayah. Ameen.

A Pious #Muslimah was using #facebook and suddenly
a friend request came from a bearded Muslim man.
She opened his profile and was really impressed by
seeing his profile. He was an educated and seems a
really pious Muslim. As she was going through his
profile Shaitan whisper to her “Accept his friend
request and talk to him he seem really pious not
like other guys may be he will like you and you both
can get married”.

She was going to accept his friend request but
suddenly she remembered the hadith:
“Whenever a Non-Mahram man and woman meeting
seclusion, #Shaytaan definitely is the third one
joining them.”
[Tirmidhi].

She realized her mistake and she was very
ashamed of her act that she was going to disobey
her Creator who loved her more than her mother.
She knew that marriage is something that will
happen when Allah wills and the way that leads to
Haram is also Haram in Islam. Then she thought if
he was really pious he wouldn't send her friend

looking at the profile.
Then she seeks refuge in Allah from the whisper of

::ISLAM IS GOOD NEIGHBORLINESS TO ALL, BELIEVERS AND UNBELIEVERS::

::ISLAM IS GOOD NEIGHBORLINESS TO ALL, BELIEVERS AND UNBELIEVERS::
=====================================
[In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful]

Islam teaches us to be good neighbors to everyone, both Muslims and non-Muslims.
Allah says in the holy Qur'an:

"Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away…"
[Qur'an 4:36]

Al-Qurtubi comments on this verse, saying:

"I say: based upon this, kind treatment of neighbors is enjoined and is recommended, whether they are Muslim or an unbeliever, and this is the right thing to do. Kind treatment may be in the sense of helping or it may be in the sense of being kind, refraining from annoyance, and supporting them."
[Source: Tafseer Al-Qurtubi, verse 4:36]

A Muslims should love for his neighbor what he loves for himself; that is, to treat his neighbor the way he would like to be treated.
Anas ibn Malik reported: The Holy Prophet, sallahu allihi wasallam, said:

"None of you has faith until he loves for his brother or his neighbor what he loves for himself."
[Source: Sahih Muslim 45, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi]

An-Nawawi comments on this tradition, saying:

"This is to be interpreted as brotherhood in general, such that it includes the Muslim and the unbeliever."
[Source: Sharh Arba’een An-Nawawi]

A Muslim should behave towards his neighbor as if he were an extended member of his family, even if the neighbor is not a Muslim.
Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

"Gabriel continued to advise me to treat neighbors well until I thought he would make them my heirs."
[Source: Sahih Muslim 2624, Grade: Sahih]

Mujahid reported: I was with Abdullah ibn Amr while his servant was skinning a sheep. He said, “O boy, when you finish up, then start with the Jewish neighbor.” A man there exclaimed, “Jewish? May Allah correct you!” He replied:

"I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, recommending that we treat our neighbors well until we thought that he would order us to make them our heirs."
[Source: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 128, Grade: Hasan]

Therefore, Muslims should not annoy their neighbors, for whoever does so will not have complete faith.

Abu Shuraih reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

"By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe!"

It was said, “Who is it, O Messenger of Allah?” He, sallahu allihi wasallam replied:

"He whose neighbor is not safe from his evil."

[Source: Sahih Bukhari 5670, Grade: Sahih]

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

"He will not enter Paradise whose neighbor is not secure from his evil."

[Source: Sahih Muslim 46, Grade: Sahih]

Likewise, a Muslim’s ritual acts of worship will not save him from the Hellfire if he is evil to his neighbor.

Abu Huraira reported: A man said, “O Messenger of Allah, a woman prays, fasts, and gives charity often but she annoys her neighbor with her sharp tongue.” The Messenger of Allah, sallahu allihi wasallam, said:

"She will be in the Hellfire."

He said, “O Messenger of Allah, another woman prays, fasts, and gives in charity very little but she does give some cheese in charity and she does not annoy her neighbor with her tongue.” He, sallahu allihi wasallam, said:

"She will be in Paradise."

[Source: Musnad Ahmad 9383, Grade: Sahih]

Furthermore, a Muslim should never allow his neighbor to go hungry while he himself has food.

Ibn Az-Zubair reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

"He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while the neighbor to his side goes hungry."

[Source: Sunan Al-Kubra Al-Bayhaqi 19049, Grade: Sahih]

All of this can be summarized in the principle that the best neighbor to Allah is the one who is best to his neighbors.

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

"The best companion to Allah is the best to his companions, and the best neighbor to Allah is the best to his neighbors."

[Source: Sunan At-Tirmidhi 1944, Grade: Sahih]

In conclusion, a Muslim must honor all of his neighbors, whether Muslim or non-Muslim. He must fulfill their basic rights, ensure their well-being, refrain from causing annoyance, and generally treat them with the same respect and kindness he expects for himself.

Success comes from Allah, and Allah knows best.
