"PUNISHMENT OF MISSING FRIDAY PRAYER"

"PUNISHMENT OF MISSING FRIDAY PRAYER"

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 62 Surah Jumua verses 9-11:

"O ye who believe!  When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly) hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah and leave off business (and traffic): that is best for you if ye but knew!

And when the Prayer is finished then may ye disperse through the land and seek of the Bounty of Allah: and celebrate the Praises of Allah often (and without stint): that ye may prosper.

But when they see some bargain or some amusement they disperse headlong to it and leave thee standing.  Say: "The (blessing) from the Presence of Allah is better than any amusement or bargain!  And Allah is the Best to provide (for all needs)."

To leave any and all worldly pursuits and earnestly attend the Friday mid-day sermon and congregational prayer is an absolutely obligatory Command of the Lord Most High upon those who have professed belief in Him and the Last Day.

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 1047  Narrated by Al-Ja'd ad-Damri
The Prophet (saws) said:  “He who leaves the Friday prayer (continuously) for three Fridays on account of slackness, Allah will print a stamp on his heart.”

The remembrance of Allah here means to be concern about the Friday prayer, what it entails and come to it with tranquility and humility. One should not ignore it or feel laziness in performing it. Those who ignore it or feel laziness in performing the Friday prayer; Allah will seal up their hearts and they will be among the heedless ones. It is narrated from Abdullah bin ‘Umar and Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with them), that they heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say, on the planks of his Minber (pulpit):

“People must cease neglecting Friday prayer, or Allah will put a seal over their hearts and they will truly be among the negligent.” (Muslim 865)

In another narration the Prophet (PBUH) said: “Whoever leaves three Friday prayers, considering it insignificant, Allah will place a seal upon his heart.” (Abu Dawud 1052). It is a tremendous loss, a great misfortune and deprivation. A person with a sealed heart becomes incapable of doing any deed of virtue.

The Friday prayer (Juma’ah Salat) is very important for Muslims Men as it's obligation in Quran Majeed is mentioned as:

O you who believe (Muslims)! When the call is proclaimed for the Salat (prayer) on friday (Jumu'ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allah [Jumu'ah religious talk (Khutbah) and Salat (prayer)] and leave off business (and every other thing). That is better for you if you did but know!

"Merits of Friday"

"Merits of Friday"

Friday is a special day for Muslims. Many of us say that all days are equal as all are being created by Allah. True, but still, Friday is special, it has its own merits. Refer to following hadith:

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said, “The best day on which the sun rises is Friday; on it Adam (AS) was created; and on it, he descended on earth; and on it, his repentance was accepted; and on it, he died; and on it, the Hour will be established…..”
(Hadith No. 1046, Book of Salat, Sunan Abu Dawud, Vol.1).

It is to be understood that the concept of Friday is not a new thing for the Ummah of Muhammad (PBUH); rather this day was declared special by Allah for the nations who existed before. Let us say it as a weekend, although it is not same as weekend of modern world. Nevertheless, this one day in a week (Friday) was appointed by Allah as a holy day (it seems ‘holiday’ has been derived from this) and celebration of Friday (i.e. the Salat of Friday) was made compulsory on the races that existed before Muhammad, PBUH. Following hadith explains this very clearly:

Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA): I heard Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) saying: “We are the last but the foremost on the Day of Resurrection, though the former nations were given the Scripture before us. And this was their day (Friday) the celebration of which (i.e. Friday prayer etc.) was made compulsory for them, but they differed about it. So, Allah gave us the guidance for it (Friday) and all the other people are behind us in this respect: the Jews’ (holy day is) the following day (i.e. Saturday) and the Christians’ (is) the day after the following day (i.e. Sunday).
(Hadith No. 876, Book of Al-Juma’a, Sahih Bukhari, Vol.2).

See how beneficial it is to read. While trying to know about virtues of Friday, we got lovely information about the concept of weekend too. So, another thing to learn here is that for a Muslim the concept of weekend on Saturdays and Sundays is wrong, Friday is actually the special day of the week that a Muslim should concentrate on.
The importance of Friday can be understood by the fact that there is a whole chapter dedicated to Friday (Surah Al-Juma’a, Chapter No. 62) in Holy Qur’an. There is a direct instruction for all believers about Friday prayers.

“O you who believe! When the call is proclaimed for the Salat on Friday, come to the remembrance of Allah & leave off business. That is better for you if you did but know!”
(Aayah No. 9, Surah Al-Juma’a, Chapter No. 62, Holy Qur’an).

Also, there is a response hour on Friday, during which every supplication from a Muslim is accepted by Allah. Two different times have been reported for this. Refer to ahadith below:

Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said, “Friday has twelve – meaning hours – to it. There is no Muslim who asks Allah for anything (during it) except that Allah gives it to him, so seek it during the last hour after Asr.”
(Hadith No. 1048, Book of Salat, Sunan Abu Dawud, Vol. 1).

and,
Abu Burdah bin Abi Musa Al-Ash’ari said: Abdullah bin Umar (RA) asked me, “Have you heard your father narrating from Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) regarding Friday – meaning the Hour (of response)?” I said, “Yes, I heard him say: I heard Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) say: It is between the time that the Imam sits down until prayer is finished.”
(Hadith No. 1049, Book of Salat, Sunan Abu Dawud, Vol. 1).

Maybe the blessed moment of Divine Grace when supplications are answered on Friday alternates between times. And Allah knows best.
It is also reported (ref. Hadith No. 1050, Book of Salat, Sunan Abu Dawud, Vol. 1) that whoever performs Wudu well, then attends Friday prayer, and listens quietly the sermon, then he will be forgiven (the sins that occurred) between the two Fridays. The narrator for this hadith is Abu Hurairah (RA).

"Saying "Jummah Mubarak" Is a "Religious Innovation" Kindly Avoid It.

Among some of the new INNOVATIONS within the religion (Bid`ah) after Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) death is a new trend of wishing Jumah Mubarak, You`ll find a lot of people wishing each other Have a blessed friday/Jumuah Mubarak.

Dear Brothers & Sisters...How can we INNOVATE WITHIN THE RELIGION that which the Prophet & his companions themselves didn`t do ?

1st we need to realize the ideology behind it, and since we have many Philosophers these days, who say, BUT WE ARE JUST WISHING EACH OTHER Blah Blah Blah !

We need to realize this first that, who were better in terms of seeking goodness for the sake of Allah ? Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and the Sahaaba (His Companions) or we ?

Had their been any good in it Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) would have surely mentioned this in any of the Authentic Hadeeths.

Right ?

Then We are doing this act either means, that we have a better understanding of Islam and ways to attain rewards from Allah than Rasool Allah (P.B.U.H) or YOU claim that they (Nauzubillah) cheated us by not sharing with us this act of gaining rewards.

What do you think ?

Do WE consider OURSELVES better than them or were they better than us in terms of the understanding of the deen and ways of attaining Allah`s blessings ?

Furthermore, now see how a small Innovation can lead you to hell fire and can make you earn Allah`s curse.

RasoolAllah {Sallalahu Alayhi Was'salam} informed the Sahaabah, that they must adhere to his Sunnah and Sunnah of Khulfa Rashideen, and told them that avoid newly invented matters, because every reprehensiable novelty is reprehensiable Biddah, and every reprehensiable Biddah is error:

Sunnan Abu Dawood, Book 40, Number 4590: "Narrated Irbad ibn Sariyah: Abdur Rahman ibn Amr as-Sulami and Hujr ibn Hujr said: ... He then said: I enjoin you to fear Allah, and to hear and obey even if it be an Abyssinian slave, for those of you who live after me will see great disagreement. You must then follow my sunnah and that of the rightly-guided caliphs. Hold to it and stick fast to it. Avoid novelties, for every novelty is an innovation, and every innovation is an error."

Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Hadith 1885:Jabir b. Abdullah said: ... He would also say:" The last Hour and I have been sent like these two." and he would join his forefinger and middle finger; and would further say: "The best of the speech is embodied in the Book of Allah, and the beet of the guidance is the guidance given by Muhammad. And the most evil affairs are their innovations; and every innovation is error." He would further say:, I am more dear to a Muslim even than his self; ..."

Sahih Bukhari, Book 92, Hadith 382: "Narrated 'Abdullah: The best talk (i.e. speech) is Allah's Book {i.e. Quran}, and the best way is the way of Muhammad, and the Worst matters are the heresies (i.e. those new things which are introduced into the religion); and whatever you have been promised will surely come to pass, and you cannot escape (it)."

Prophet {sallalahu alayhi was'salam} warned, that one who intorduces a Biddah {not in harmony with principles of deen, withoud valid reason of Sharia, and without aproval from Prophet, Sahabah} such a person is cursed by Allah as well as one who shelters him:

Sunan Abu Dawood, Book 39, Hadith 4515: "Narrated Ali ibn AbuTalib: Qays ibn Abbad and Ashtar went to Ali and said to him: Did the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) give you any instruction about anything for which he did not give any instruction to the people in general? He said: No, except what is contained in this document of mine. Musaddad said: He then took out a document. Ahmad said: A document from the sheath of his sword. It contained: The lives of all Muslims are equal; they are one hand against others; the lowliest of them can guarantee their protection. Beware, a Muslim must not be killed for an infidel, nor must one who has been given a covenant be killed while his covenant holds. If anyone introduces an innovation, he will be responsible for it. If anyone introduces an innovation or gives shelter to a man who introduces an innovation (in religion), he is cursed by Allah, by His angels, and by all the people. Musaddad said: Ibn AbuUrubah's version has: He took out a document."

Sahih Muslim, Book 7, Hadith 3159: 'Asim reported: I asked Anas b. Malik whether Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) had declared Medina as sacred. He said: Yes. (the area) between so and so. He who made any innovation in it, and further said to me: It is something serious to make any innovation in it (and he who does it) there is upon him the curse of Allah, and that of the angels and of all the people, Allah will not accept from him on the Day of Resurrection either obligatory acts or the surpererogatory acts. Ibn Anas said: Or he accommodates an innovator.”

Sahih Muslim, Book 7, Hadith 3166: “Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: Medina is a sacred territory, so he who made any innovation in it. or gave protection to an innovator, there is upon him the curse of Allah, that of the angels and that of all the people. There would not be accepted on the Day of Resurrection either obligatory acts or supererogatory acts from him.”

Mubtadi {Innovator's}and one who accommodates him are cursed by Allah his angles, and all the people, Messenger of Allah further revealed that Allah will not accept the obligatory acts of worship etc … nor will He accept supererogatory acts, i.e. nawafil prayers, Taraweeh, etc … on the day of judgement, hence without acceptance of Farahid, and Nawafil, person has no basis to enter paradise, he will be sent to fire of hell.

RasoolAllah {sallalahu alayhi was'salam} foretells that on the day of judgement Allah subhana wa tallah will grant him honour on Al Kauthar, and a group of people will come to Messenger of Allah asking for the water, and angles will remind him that they are innovator's and Messenger of Allah will send them away:

Sahih Muslim, Book 30, Hadith 5706 : “Anas b. Malik reported Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: Some persons from amongst my associates would turn to my Reservoir {Al Kauthar}; when I would see them and they would be presented to me, they would be detained in the way while coming to me. I would say: My Lord, they are my companions, they are my companions, and it would be said to me: You don't know what innovations they made after you?”

Sahih Muslim, Book 30, Hadith 5690: “'Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying; I shall be there at the Reservoir {Al Kauthar} before you, and I shall have to contend for some people, but I shall have to yield. I would be saying: My Lord, they are my friends, they are my friends, and it would be said: You don't know what innovations they made after you?”

Sahih Muslim, Book 30, Hadith 5686: “Umm Salama, the wife of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him), said I used to hear from people making a mention of the Reservoir {Al Kauthar}, but I did not hear about it from Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him). One day while a girl was combing me I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) say:" O people." I said to that girl: Keep away from me. She said: He (the Holy Prophet) has addressed the men only and he has not invited the attention of the women. I said: I am amongst the people also (and have thus every right to listen to the things pertaining to religion). Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: I shall be your harbinger on the Resevoir {Al Kauthar}; therefore, be cautious lest one of you should come (to me) and may be driven away like a stray camel. I would ask the reasons, and it would be said to me: You don't know what innovations they made after you? And I would then also say: Be away.”

Imam Nasai rahimullah narrates the above Hadith, but adds another part:

* Sunan Nasai: “And the most evil affairs are the innovations. And every innovation is error; and every error is misguidance; and every misguidance will lead to the hell fire.”

Please share this with every person you see wishing "Jummah Mubarak"

"SAYING JUMMAH MUBARAK IS A RELIGIOUS INNOVATION"

"SAYING JUMMAH MUBARAK IS A RELIGIOUS INNOVATION"

Firstly:

There is no doubt that Friday is an “Eid” or “festival” for the Muslims, as it says in the hadeeth narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “This is a day of ‘Eid that Allah has ordained for the Muslims, so whoever comes to Jumu‘ah, let him do ghusl, and if he has any perfume let him put some on, and you should use the miswaak.” Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1098; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah.

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said, describing the special virtues of Friday:

Thirteen: It is a day of ‘Eid that is repeated every week.

Zaad al-Ma‘aad, 1/369

Thus the Muslims have three Eids: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, which come once every year, and Jumu‘ah which is repeated once every week.

Secondly:

With regard to the Muslims congratulating one another on the occasions of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, this is prescribed and it is narrated from the Sahaabah (may Allah be pleased with them). This has been discussed previously in the answers to questions no. 49021 and 36442. As for congratulating one another on the occasion of Friday, what seems to us to be the case is that it is not prescribed, because the fact that Friday is an Eid was known to the Sahaabah (may Allah be pleased with them), and they were more knowledgeable than us about its virtues, and they were keen to respect it and give it its due, but there is no report to suggest that they used to congratulate one another on Fridays. And all goodness is in following them (may Allah be pleased with them).

The early generation did not congratulate one another on Fridays, so we should not introduce anything that they did not do.

It is not prescribed to exchange congratulations on Fridays, such as saying to one another, “Jumu‘ah mubaarak” and so on, because it comes under the heading of du‘aa’s and dhikrs, which must be based on a text (of the Qur’aan or Sunnah) because this is purely the matter of worship and if it were good, the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) would have done it before us. If anyone suggests that this is permissible, then that may imply that it is prescribed to say du‘aa’s and congratulate one another after having done the five daily prayers and other acts of worship, and du‘aa’ at these times was not done by the early generations.

YOU doing this act either means, that you have a better understanding of Islam and ways to attain rewards from Allah than Rasool Allah (P.B.U.H) or YOU claim that they (Nauzubillah) cheated us by not sharing with us this act of gaining rewards.

What do you think ?

Do YOU consider YOURSELF better than them or were they better than you in terms of the understanding of the deen and ways of attaining Allah`s blessings ?

"SAY NO TO BID'DAH"
